Tourism Ministry statistics show that Saudi is the largest market from the Middle Eastern region to the Maldives. The statistics also highlight that Saudi is ranked no.15 as the leading tourism market to the Maldives.
Compared to statistics of June 2018, the first half of 2019 showed a 15% increase of tourist arrivals from Saudi with over 11,600 guests arriving at the Maldives.
The second-largest tourism market from the Middle Eastern region is the United Arab Emirates (UAE) while Kuwait is ranked third-largest tourism market to the Maldives in this region with 3000+ tourist arrivals which is an increase of 20% compared to last year’s statistics.
