Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort and Spa hosted a charity run on Sunday to raise funds for the local Home for People with Special Needs.
The Run to Give 2017 was attended by over 250 runners, including Maldives top marathon runners Ahmed Athif and Mariyam Abdul Kareem. Several other runners and athletes from capital Male as well as guests and associates also took to the 3km track throughout the island and along its picturesque beach.
According to Sheraton Maldives, about USD 3,000 were raised through the run.
“Sheraton Maldives will continue additional activities throughout the year such as jumble sale amongst others to raise additional funds for Guraidhoo-based Home for People with Special Needs,” the resort said.
As part of parent company Marriott International’s Run to Give global campaign, Sheraton Maldives has hosted similar charity runs in the past two years as well.
Conveniently located just 15-20 minutes away from the main Velana International Airport and a kilometre away from the nearest inhabited island, Sheraton Maldives is a tropical paradise located on its very own private island and a heaven for those seeking stunning white sandy beaches and warm turquoise lagoons.
